At a Tortoise’s Pace
At a Tortoise’s Pace is a short film about an elderly tortoise and his place in the world around him. Our character, Mr.Tortuga, typically likes to stay inside his shell and experience the world from his rocking chair while watching tv. However, after watching tv one day and seeing how things are he wants to go out and make a change. He’s hesitant, since what he expects might be different from reality but he won’t know until he goes out. When he emerges, all seems peaceful, but in a matter of moments our character is surrounded by a place unfamiliar to him although he hasn’t moved. The world is moving around him and he feels like he cannot catch up.
The project was selected by a group of faculty and judges through the Herberger College of Design to be featured in the Fall 2021 Animation showcase.
